Stephen Ministers

We are a Stephen Ministry congregation!

Stephen Ministry is a worldwide program that is a one-to-one caring ministry that uses lay trained persons to provide distinctively Christ-centered care to people who are experiencing all kinds of life needs.  Our ministry team has been doing this for over twenty-five years!

Who are the Stephen Ministers?

Stephen Ministers are members of our congregation that have been trained to offer high-quality, one-to-one Christian care to people going through tough times.

Who might be a Stephen Minister care receiver?

Care receivers are people in our congregation and others in the community.  They are people struggling through a difficult time in life.  They may be experiencing grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, or some other life crisis.

What to expect from a Stephen Minister.

• A one-to-one relationship between the Stephen Minister and care receiver.
• The relationship is confidential.
• Men are matched with men; women with women.
• When a care receiver’s needs exceed what a Stephen Minister can provide, the Stephen Ministry team makes a referral to an appropriate mental health professional or other community resource.
